The Physiopedia app is available free of charge – it's a power tool in your pocket!
The Physiopedia app is a lifeline for thousands of clinicians around the world. Whether you are newly qualified and need information on an unknown condition, or whether you work remotely and other clinicians are not easy to reach to discuss your clinical cases with. The Physiopedia app provides you with relevant information at the push of a button.
The app is free and there is a paid premium version of the app that allows you to view content offline and remove advertising. The paid version costs £ 0.99 / $ 1.99 per month and as a premium user you can add an item to favorites by clicking the heart icon in the top right corner of the screen. This article is being downloaded for offline access.
Functions – always updated!
You can search for the information you're looking for in the app. Either by clicking on the relevant body part and then selecting the information you want, for example anatomy or result measurements or examination techniques. Video demonstrations accompany some of the physiopedia pages. You can also search for conditions. If you know what you're looking for, just type this into the search bar above. For example, if you are looking for information on headaches, you can enter your specific search topic in the search bar.
All of these great features got me thinking about what a useful tool this app can be for clinicians working in a clinic, and beyond what resources the app can provide to the clinical team. The clinic I work at would like to download the app on the cell phones that will be made available to clinicians when they enter the clinic. This gives them clinical support on their phone. Perhaps your clinic could consider this to support the clinical staff in their operations?
