Thanks to an amazing collaboration with Nottingham University, we now have some amazing new pages when it comes to spinal rehabilitation.

Nottingham University has been working with Physiopedia since 2012 to create and review pages related to spinal rehabilitation as part of a bespoke content development project. The project is part of the first module for spinal rehabilitation in your three-year Bachelor Physiotherapy course (BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy). In small groups, students are asked to examine the evidence and create current pages. This not only gives them a platform to improve their research and technology skills, it also gives them the opportunity to share their knowledge with a global physiotherapy community.

2020 was an unusual year for physical therapists worldwide as the COVID-19 pandemic spread rapidly through communities and disrupted not only clinical practice but also education. The students were unable to attend the lectures in person, but their clinical internships were either postponed or canceled. Content development projects provide a different type of learning experience and one that can fill the void created by disrupted internships and lectures.

Tailor-made learning during a pandemic

The pandemic did not prevent the students from participating in the project. In fact, they accepted disruptions and studied not only spinal diseases, but also the effects of COVID-19 on spinal rehabilitation. You can see the amazing pages the students created in this PR or why not visit their project page.

The process is simple and straightforward with no technical knowledge required. So why not take on a new challenge, it really is very simple and has numerous advantages for learning and teaching:

It's a great way to share and promote knowledge with colleagues, clinicians, and future employers . It is better than producing work that is in a drawer or shelf collecting dust
Provides a means for early professional publication
Can be edited and entries published without knowledge of the specialist web
