Richard Yep, Managing Director of ACA

A CA members are special persons. As a member of ACA, members receive Counseling Today and have access to the Journal of Counseling & Development. ACA members know that they are part of an organization that has literally set the standards of ethics, professional practice and advocacy development. The members are offered many opportunities.

In addition to the benefits and benefits that ACA members receive directly, there is also the advocacy of the daily counseling profession. Our legal and regulatory concerns are shared with public policy officials by you and the ACA Government Affairs team. Last year, we had numerous "opportunities" to visit states that questioned the consulting profession. This is what your membership offers – the services of a dedicated and experienced team of public policy professionals.

The benefits of membership are clearly diverse. But today I'm writing about something that you may not have thought of as an ACA member. I am referring to something that is both a privilege and a commitment. I like to call this a "privilege".

As a member of the world's largest organization representing professional consultants, you have the "privilege" of casting a vote for those who will lead the profession in the years to come. The voting cycle runs from 2 December to 31 January. ACA members will receive an e-mail notification of the election, which includes links to information about who competes at the national, departmental and regional levels of our organization.

You have the control and ability to choose those whom you believe best serve your interests and those of the profession. I would encourage you to take a look at who is running for ACA's national, regional and departmental positions. Make your voice heard – by voting!

I often tell candidates who run for ACA positions that I'm impressed by their commitment to the profession, their vision, their energy, and their willingness to serve. I feel that membership "thanks" them with a vote. Let this year's candidates know that you also respect their interest in serving the profession by voting. ACA members will receive an e-mail from our voter, eBallot, containing voting instructions and a username and password for the eBallot system. Her ACA membership must have been active on November 1st to take part in this year's vote.

When we start December, I must also tell you that the ACA Foundation, a proud professional partner of ACA, is calling on all members to consider making a donation of any size. Over the years, the ACA Foundation has achieved great success with the programs it supports, which benefit doctoral students and professional members of ACA. More recently, the ACA Foundation has supported a "mini grant" program that will provide a small amount of support to professional consultants who have innovative ideas on how to serve their clients, students or communities. These small grants are often the key to the success of these efforts.

So, as we enter the traditional time of giving, I hope you will consider the ACA Foundation's support, as it has supported the consulting profession for the last 40 years. For more information, see counselling.org/about-us/aca-foundation.[19459006
