The ability to communicate what we do as clinicians is critical to getting our patients on board, committed to services, and advancing our profession. But it is not easy!

As part of ReLab-HS, we want to define some of the most important rehabilitation professions that help people advocate for rehabilitation services around the world. If you are one of the following professionals, we would like to hear from you!

Audiology
Occupational therapy
physical therapy
Prosthetics and orthotics
Psychology
Rehabilitation doctors
Rehabilitation nurses
Speech and speech therapy
and we missed everyone else!

Our vision – your voice

We want to create something that really captures the diversity of specialist areas and the global diversity within the rehabilitation professions . For this we need everyone who works and describes your job.

Can you record a short (approx. 1 minute) video clip about what your job is for you by Friday, July 2nd ? Your answer may include the specifics of your job or your opinion on why your role is so valuable. Here are some ideas of what you could cover in your video clip.

Remember, you don't have to give all the answers! Just answer a question or two of these and we hope to combine clips from many clinicians to get a truly global picture of what rehabilitation professions are like around the world.

The technical bit

It doesn't have to be complicated. No special recording device is required – just you and your phone or laptop, so read these simple tips first.

When recording your clip:

Find a quiet place with minimal background noise and good lighting
Set your phone or laptop to the highest quality setting for recording video
Record in landscape orientation with the recording device in front of you
Remember the rule of thirds for on-screen positioning – if you want to divide the screen into thirds, try to position yourself so that your eyes are on the top horizontal line
Speak directly to the camera

Here is a sample video:

And that's it! When you are happy with your recording, just submit the video file below. Make sure that you also give us your N name, job title / occupation, including any specialist areas in which environment you work (clinic, hospital, community, self-employed, research, teaching, etc.) You work in. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Send your video here

The best videos are included in course materials for the ReLAB-HS project, to promote the project (also on social media) and are freely available worldwide to promote rehabilitation professions. By submitting your video, you give us permission to use it. If you have any questions about the project or just need help with your submission, please feel free to contact us.
