When you have 6 team members in 3 different time zones in 5 different countries, creating an abstract becomes a dynamic process. The picture above shows the week before the submission deadline for WCPT. When one team member slept, another member would edit and provide insights. While one member saw patients in their clinical practice, another member left comments, suggestions, and words of encouragement. The use of Google Docs and our team's Slack workspace time zones didn't become an obstacle to our collaboration process – they were beneficial!

The Physiopedia team looks forward to engaging with the physiotherapy community at the 2021 WCPT Congress. This year we submitted four abstracts. We hope to share some exciting work with the global physical therapy community, including insights from our massive online open course (MOOC) offered in response to COVID-19, our work with MOOCs over the past five years and Content Development Considerations for Physiopedia Programs.

Physiopedia believes in building and connecting our global physiotherapy community. Physiotherapists from all over the world gather on our platforms every day. Together we work through abstracts, physiospots, Physiopedia page changes and Physioplus courses on our mission to improve global health through universal access to physiotherapy knowledge.

How do I become a volunteer?

All of our volunteers complete the volunteer orientation course, the next course starts on Monday, September 7th! After successfully completing this course, all of our volunteers spend six months on the content development team. This consolidates everything you learned in the course and gives you the opportunity to demonstrate where your unique skills and interests lie. After your six month review, you will be assigned a specific role that matches the skills you have demonstrated, as well as your individual qualifications, experience and interests. If you would like to take this course, please click the button below and join us on an amazing journey!
